Deep Purple-Child in Time
Ian Gillan has said that "Child in Time" is based on It's a Beautiful Day's psychedelic song "Bombay Calling". It's a Beautiful Day in return borrowed Purple's "Wring That Neck" and turned it into "Don and Dewey" on their second album Marrying Maiden (1970). As Ian Gillan put it in a 2002 interview, "There are two sides to that song - the musical side and the lyrical side. On the musical side, there used to be this song 'Bombay Calling' by a band called It's A Beautiful Day. It was fresh and original, when Jon was one day playing it on his keyboard. It sounded good, and we thought we'd play around with it, change it a bit and do something new keeping that as a base. But then, I had never heard the original 'Bombay Calling'. So we created this song using the Cold War as the theme, and wrote the lines 'Sweet child in time, you'll see the line.' That's how the lyrical side came in. Then, Jon had the keyboard parts ready and Ritchie had the guitar parts ready. The song basically reflected the mood of the moment, and that's why it became so popular.
"Child in Time" is an essentially simple composition, featuring an organ intro, three power chords, and a two minute long guitar solo. Lyrically dark, vocalist Ian Gillan utilizes his wide vocal range and goes from quiet singing to loud, high-pitched, banshee-esque falsetto screaming. Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore comes in with a slow solo, which builds up to a fast-pace playing and then ends abruptly, with the whole song cycle starting over again. Blackmore is normally associated with playing a Fender Stratocaster, however, he played a Gibson ES-335 on the studio version of the song.
A staple of the Deep Purple live concerts in 1970–73 and later after their initial reunion tours of 1985 and 1987–88, the song has not been featured regularly at concerts since 1995. Gillan cites many personal reasons for leaving the song out, but it is likely that, given his advancing years, the song is becoming increasingly difficult to perform without sampled vocal backings. Its last appearance in Deep Purple's live set was at Kharkov's Opera Theatre's scene in 2002. In that performance, high-pitched guitar was used to cover up Gillan's then-limited vocal range during the "screaming" parts. A similar technique is used on current live performances of "Space Truckin'".
A live version later appeared on the 1972 live album Made in Japan. Another live version can be found on the Scandinavian Nights / Live in Stockholm live album, recorded in September 1970. Gillan also featured a live jazz influenced version of the song in his Ian Gillan Band project of the late 1970s.

Iced Earth-Melancholy
Iced Earth is an American Heavy Metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1985, by guitarist and main songwriter Jon Schaffer and original drummer Greg Seymour. Originally founded under the name "Purgatory", Iced Earth released their debut album in 1990. Since then, the band have released a total of ten studio albums, four EPs, three compilations, three box sets, one live album and one covers album.
After releasing two studio albums in 1990 and 1991, respectively, Iced Earth took a three year layoff, from 1992 to 1995, after which the band returned with new lead vocalist Matt Barlow. Iced Earth went on to release four studio albums with Barlow, between 1995 and 2001 respectively; 1995's Burnt Offerings, 1996's The Dark Saga, 1998's Something Wicked This Way Comes and 2001's Horror Show.
After Horror Show, Barlow quit the band and joined the police force,while Iced Earth continued on with Tim "Ripper" Owens, of Judas Priest fame, on vocals. With Owens, the band released two studio albums (2004's The Glorious Burden and 2007's Framing Armageddon), until late 2007, when it was announced that Matt Barlow would be rejoining the band, after five years apart Iced Earth recorded the album The Crucible of Man with Barlow in 2008, but in 2011 it was announced that he would be leaving the band once again, this time for good. Later that year, Into Eternity frontman Stu Block was announced as Iced Earth's new lead vocalist. Dystopia, Block's first album with the group, was released in October 2011, and was met with a very positive response, with some critics calling Dystopia one of Iced Earth's best albums.
Since its inception, Iced Earth has had numerous line-up changes, with founder Jon Schaffer staying as the only constant member. As of 2013, there have been over twenty musicians in and out of Iced Earth since its formation in 1985 (see: List of Iced Earth band members for more details). Currently the band is composed of rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer, lead guitarist Troy Seele, singer Stu Block, bassist Luke Appleton and drummer Jon Dette.

Matthew Tuck (born 20 January 1980) is a Welsh musician. He is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in the Welsh heavy metal band Bullet for My Valentine. He and the other 3 members of his old band founded Jeff killed John in 1998, but after changing the bassist in 2003, the band was renamed to Bullet For My Valentine. He is also a singer and guitarist in the supergroup AxeWound, which was formed in 2012. He also plays drums, keyboard, and harmonica. He did a collaboration with Max Cavalera of Cavalera Conspiracy and in the Apocalyptica song, "Repressed".

about the music video:
The music video, directed and enacted by Scott Winig, depicts a series of what seems like predictions made by a young woman. It starts off showing the outside of a motel, and flips inside to show a young couple. The boyfriend leaves the room, walks out onto the driveway, and gets into his car. His girlfriend follows him out shortly after because he forgot his necklace. As soon as he pulls out into the road, he is slammed in to by a truck, thus killing him. This is revealed to be a nightmare, thought up by the girlfriend. These series of events repeat a few times, with minor variations each time. The last time the girlfriend wakes up, the "predictions" of what she thought was going to happen seem to be proven false. One of the final shots is of the girlfriend looking out a window and seeing the truck that would have killed her boyfriend pass by. However, the boyfriend is not there. Between the shots of the couple, there are shots of the band playing in a graveyard and the video ends with Matt Tuck crouching over what seems to be the coffin of the boyfriend.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως πριν από μερικές μέρες ο κιθαρίστας των Slipknot, Jim Root, ανακοίνωσε πως δεν θα ακολουθήσει τους Stone Sour σε περιοδεία με σκοπό να αφοσιωθεί στην δημιουργία του νέου δίσκου.
Θυμίζουμε πως ο Jordison τους τελευταίους μήνες ασχολείται με τους Scar Τhe Martyr, κυκλοφορώντας το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο και περιοδεύοντας κατόπιν μαζί τους.

According to Slash in his autobiography, producer Spencer Proffer suggested adding a dramatic breakdown before the ending. No one had any idea on what to do. As they listened again and again to the song in the control room, Axl started asking “Where do we go? Where do we go now? … where do we go?”. Spencer turned down the music, and said “Why don’t you just try singing that?” And thus the last part of the song was born.
